DR Congo
The DR Congo
was one of the biggest disappointments of the tournament. Within two years
the appearance of the team transformed from a fluently combinationg squad
who became surprise bronze winners at Burkina Faso into an uninspired collection
of workers who lacked coherence and did not score a single goal. Not even
against the leaky defence of Gabon the former Central African giants were
able to net the ball.
In this context it did not
help much, that the team allowed only one score themselves. Whatever had
turned the Congolese into the surprise team two years before - it had disappeared
again. |
