GROUP 3, week 5:

June 2, 1500GTM  Gabon - Tunisia  1:1

Before
Although still favorites to qualify as second from this group, Tunisia can get into a difficult situation today: if they lose in Gabon and Kenya beats Morocco, they will have to rely on help in the last match.

1st half
-Gabon in green, Tunisia in white
-('8) after half chances for each team, the Gabonese keeper now makes a good save against a short range shot from half left hand side as the Tunisians have broken though
-('9) the match is interrupted for some minutes because of discussions at the benches
-('23) Gabonese successfully defend a sequence of crosses and corners
-('25) Gabonese attack themselves but Tunisians can defend for a corner
-up to here a quite balanced match
-('36) Tunisia with a counter attack but the lob from 18 meters sails across the bar
-('45) Gabon look terribly disorganised on a Tunisian counter attack but the North Africans cannot capitalize
-('injury time) Gabon come close to a chance but El Ouaer makes no mistake catching the ball

halftime  0:0
a quite boring match with only half chances if at all

2nd half
-nothing happens until:
-('57) Gabon free kick from 25 meters: the ball is curved around the wall and takes one bounce on the ground. It slips through El Ouaers hands into the goal - 1:0
-('58) Tunisians answer fast and almost catch the Gabonese celebrating. But Zitounis attempt misses the goal by centimeters
-('63) Tunisian #7 is all alone 10 meters to the goal, half right hand side, but he shoots wide at the second goal post
-Tunisians clearly have accelerated , they should have played like this from the start
-('68) Tunisia score by a diving header after a corner, Gabonese defence does not look good - 1:1
-('70) Gabon: another free kick, this time intercepted by the Tunisian defenders
-('71) Gabon: the corner brings some more danger, but the Tunisians answer by a fast counter attack. The eventual shot goes wide
-('74) Gabon, alow diagonal shot, sharp, is causing some difficulties for El Ouaer as the ball has taken a bounce on the ground
-('75) Gabon: huge opportunity as the Gabonese combinate through, #9 misses the goal by centimeters, El Ouaer would have been without chance
-the Gabonese surprisingly now manage quite well to get the Tunisian defence into several troubles
-the match, which had been a sleeping pill now goes up and down
-('82) El Ouaer spectacularly intercepts a Gabonese attack - now he lies on the ground and gets treated
-('86) Gabon: free kick, 22 meters central to the goal. They play it indirect, but the trick does not fool the Tunisians but their own player - wasted opportunity
-('injury time) Gabon desperately attacking, showing late skills, but Tunisia survive

final score 1:1
