Congo were one
of the positive surprises of the tournament, making the most out of their
little opportunities, playing a lively game frustrating their big opponents
in defence and midfield.
Pitched against three giants
of African football, the team displayed great commitment, led by Eintracht
Frankfurt midfield star Rolf-Christel Guie-Mien and consisting of several
lower league professionals at Europe.
The only disappointment
for the Central African team had been that they had remained unlucky in
front of the goal, losing twice 0:1 and holding hosts Nigeria to a disappointing
