mportant remark:
Unlike the years before the reports of the group matches are summeries of various reports by other sources
As usually many reports, although available in various form on various sites, go down to the same human source and inherit the danger of overemphasizing a particular view on events.
But the financial and infrastructural situation (f.e. payTV) of The Shot does not allow a better coverage at the moment.
Still The Shot has decided to keep the value of an archive of reports alive through this improvisation as the past years (since 1999) are documented very detailed.

Aug. 2/3/4:
Costa do Sol - Esperance  0:1
Esperance Tunis went to Mozambique with two weeks extra preparation in the southern hemisphare. But like the years before the Tunisian allstar team, spiced with a couple of new players, had difficulties in finding their rhythm at this time of the year. The likely reason is a lack of match practice for a reformed team when the first weeks of the Champions League fall into the long summer break of Tunisian league football before a new season starts. (Tunisia is one of the countries which have a football year from summer to summer).
Still Costa do Sol proved to be too much of an outsider to profit and Esperance took away the valuable three points thanks to a goal by Jelassi in front of a disappointing crowd of 5,000
The reported line-ups were:
Costa do Sol:
24-Antoninho, 3-Sota, 13-Jotamo, 18-Julinho, 27-Pascoal, 28-Edmundo, 4-Betinho (10-Magaba 87), 20-Nelinho (21-Samuel 75), 6-To, 11-Mavo, 19-Arnaldo (16-Ze Bernardo 46).
Esperance:
19-Jean-Jacques Tizie, 4-Khaled Badra, 5-Moyin Chaabani, 7-Tarek Thabet, 15-Radhi Jaidi, 26-Jaouhar Mnari, 2-Oumar Sane (14-Sirajeddine Chihi 82), 11-Mourad Melki, 30-Clayton (Bechir Mogaadi 87), 12-Riadh Jelassi (9-Ali Zitouni 73), 29-Kandia Traore.

Zamalek - ASEC  3:1

Aug 16/17/18:

At the moment it is difficult to fill up the missing match reports because of time, money, and/or somebody who does this work.
I hope I can add them as soon as possible.
