The situation before the match:

1 Espérance 4 12-0 12
2 ASEC 3 5-4  6
3 St.Louisienne 4 2-10  3
4 Dynamos 3 0-5  0
 (group winner advances to finals)

Yesterdays victory of Espérance had left the Dynamos without any theoretical chance to win the group and had put ASEC under pressure to win this match to retain a slim positive perspective of catching up with the Tunisian dream team.

ASEC began concentrated and getting the Zimbabwians into difficulties but it were Dynamos to score first (Kumwenda, 17th). - 1:0
The Ivorians impressed again with their technical skills including ball control and quite decent passing game. While dominating through ball possession they created only a few really breathtaking goal scenes.
Anyway they equalized through Dindane (31st) when Dynamos defence couldn't clear a free kick from the right wing. - 1:1
The technical skills even of the Ivorian defenders became obvious when #4 Toure highlightet the remaining 15 minutes before the halftime by a 50m solo run only to be stopped by Dynamos keeper.

Dynamos who had just recovered from a shaky start into the local season played better in second half with more fast accurate passing attacks. Like before the now balanced match saw a game controlling ASEC team with a sometimes porous defence that on one side played a sophisticated offside trap, on the other side had lapses in concentration in build up or marking.
A Dynamos attack over the left wing brought the second goal for the Zimbabweans when ASEC defenders did not block Paluwa with enough consequence. He scored from 10m. - 2:1
ASEC's game for some time saw more solo actions but later also they played out the complete Dynamos defence a few times to waste their opportunities by hectic finishing, untypical for their build up style.
Like in first half Dynamos did not do much in the final quarter, their biggest counter chance was denied by the impressive Ivorian goalkeeper Copa.

A fine technical game ended with Dynamos beating ASEC 2:1 and the group decided as only ASEC are theoretically left in the race. But with 6 points and 12 goal behind, 2 matches to go, this should be over.

Final result: 2:1
